The general rule.
EkoFuel Bioethanol is flammable and care should be taken when storing and using this fuel. A good rule of thumb for any flammable liquid is to store it in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight.
Storing ethanol outside.
If you wish to take advantage of the savings available on larger quantities of EkoFuel and have several boxes delivered at once, you may wish to store the bulk of the fuel in a cool garage or shed. If the fuel has been stored in a cool place, we recommend allowing the ethanol to come to room temperature before use.
All bioethanol fuels work by burning vapours (not the actual liquid) and when the temperature of ethanol falls below 15⁰C it doesn’t vaporise well, which means it becomes difficult to light.
An easy solution to this is to keep a bottle or two of EkoFuel Bioethanol inside the house at room temperature, ready to use when you need it.
Storing ethanol inside.
In warm conditions, some ethanol may evaporate if the bottle is left uncovered. You should always keep bottles of ethanol fuel sealed when not in use. This also reduces the risk of a spill should the bottle be knocked over.
It is also important to only store what you have the space for. Although great savings can be had by buying larger quantities, there is no point in purchasing 16 boxes of ethanol if they are going to end up stacked in your hallway and stop you from opening the front door.
